European success for the Primary School of Ayia Napa - Antoni Tsokkou

The 07th School Education Conference on "School as an institution of democracy: The contribution of the Erasmus + Program" was held on Saturday 12/2019/5 at the University of Cyprus, organized by IDEP Lifelong Learning and eTwinning Cyprus.

Within the framework of the conference, the awards of the schools that were distinguished at national and European level with quality labels were made.

The Primary School of Ayia Napa-Antonis Tsokkou was awarded a European Quality Label eTwinning for the work of "My Plan (eT)" coordinated by teachers Elena Filippou and George Konstantinou. The European Quality Label is awarded only once a year to works that have stood out for their excellent quality and demonstrates that the work meets a certain European standard.

In addition, the Primary School of Ayia Napa-Antoni Tsokkou was honored with the eTwinning School Label after a two-phase application process. The schools honored with this title are pioneers and are recognized as leaders in areas such as the following:

  • Digital practice
  • Electronic Security Practice (eSafety)
  • Innovative and creative pedagogical approaches
  • Promotion of continuous professional development of the staff
  • Promoting collaborative learning practices with staff and students

This year 2019-2020 in Cyprus, 3 Primary Schools, 1 Special School, 2 Gymnasiums and 1 Lyceum have acquired the title of e-Twinning School, while at pan-European level the title was awarded to a total of 1004 schools.
