The Municipality of Ayia Napa aspires to acquire an open-air amphitheater of unique architecture soon after the current issue of the Town Planning Permit. The amphitheater, with a capacity of 2.500 seats will be the largest in our country and is located on the hill north of Ayia Napa, in a unique location overlooking Ayia Napa and of course the sea. It will also have culture rooms and will be able to host all kinds of events, from operas to international concerts and theatrical performances. At the same time, the amphitheater will be visited every day for tourists as an attraction, so they can enjoy the unique view it will offer.

In today's announcement, the Mayor of Ayia Napa states that in recent years Ayia Napa is making a significant effort to upgrade its quality features, as well as an effort to improve its reputation (brandname).
Attracting specific forms of tourism, such as cultural tourism, is also part of this strategy.
Therefore, according to Mr. Karousos, a tool is used, which is called a complete tourist experience, which aims to create experiences and positive memories for visitors, so that by returning home they have "taken" a little Ayia Napa with them. For this reason, according to the announcement, the Municipality began to design and create landmarks, parks and monuments: One of them is the open-air amphitheater, something that was absent from Ayia Napa.
In his announcement, the Mayor of Ayia Napa also states that everyone knows that Ayia Napa supports tourism with culture and the open-air amphitheater is necessary not only for the quality upgrade of Ayia Napa, but will be together with other points and actions culture - such as the Sculpture Park, the Seferi banquets, the Thalassa Museum and much more - the basis for claiming the title of European Capital of Culture in 2030, where then it will be Cyprus' turn for the relevant title.
