The Bird Association of Cyprus organizes on Saturday, December 16 at 9:00 am at the Center for Environmental Education and Information Kavo Greco to experience nature in new ways! What are we going to do; Bird ringing demonstration, creative nature mapping workshop and picnic.
At 9 in the morning we start with the creative mapping workshop of nature. Forget the maps as you know them! In this workshop there will be a brief presentation of creative mapping methods as well as some examples. Then you will have the opportunity to explore the natural area around you by activating your senses and make your own creative map inspired by your experience! And after you finish your work, you will be able to submit it to the 'Wild for Nature' competition, for the opportunity to win prizes with a total value of over 1500 euros and to participate in an exhibition with the winning and most interesting entries! You can register for the creative mapping workshop individually or as a group (mapping will be done in groups of 3 to 6 people).
We continue at 11 with a bird ringing show. You will have the opportunity to see up close wild birds being ringed and then released back into nature! Bird ringing is a scientific method for studying wild birds in which a ring with a unique code is placed on the bird's foot. Find out why, how and by whom the bird rings are made but also how we got from Aristotle's theory to our current knowledge about the migration of birds.
After the ringing show we will have a picnic enjoying the wonderful natural landscape of the area!

If you are between 15 and 25 years old, we have the perfect excuse for you to explore nature: the φορ Wild for Nature creative mapping contest of the Avian! We look forward to seeing nature through your eyes, but also through your other senses - we are waiting for you on Saturday to explore!
