He also said that he had taken the motorcycle for repair last week to a specific machine shop in Larnaca. On the same day, a search was carried out at the machine shop where the motorcycle was located, but it did not have registration numbers.
Further police examinations revealed that the motorcycle was transported to the machine shop on Monday, June 29, for service and change of tires and that it was operating normally. The motorcycle carried a luggage box in the back in which a black helmet was found.
Police carried out a sample footprint of the front and rear wheels of the motorcycle, from which samples were also taken for GSR analysis and for isolation of genetic material.
The sample tread footprints of the two wheels were then compared with the tire footprints found at the scene and it was found that the latter could be caused by the motorcycle tires presumably.
At noon on July 8, the two suspects were arrested and detained, while in the possession of the 29-year-old, three mobile phones were found, which were taken as evidence.
