The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Dr. Maria Panagiotou visited yesterday Thursday 25/04 and closely inspected the works on the Liopetriou River.
Mrs. Panagiotou listened and discussed the problems of both the fishermen and the owners of the two restaurants on the Liopetriou River.
It is recalled that a new extension was given to the project contractor until July 1 for the remodeling of the fishing shelter. According to the Department of Urban Planning, there were delays, which were judged to be justified.
The regeneration of the Liopetriou River is one of the biggest projects related to the fishing sector in Cyprus.
The road leading to the Liopetriou River has been opened for citizens to access the River and the restaurants.
