The Paralimni Youth Union gave its first match inside the brand new stadium today. The Crimson were defeated by Keravnos Strovolou with a score of 69-64, in a game that took place for the 16th game of the OPAP Basket League.
In the first period, the hosts started well and had the lead in the score for most of it. From the end of the first period onwards, Keravnos took the lead and kept it until the end. It is worth noting that it was the first match that took place in the new indoor stadium of Paralimni, in the presence of about 600 basketball fans. At the same time, this was the last game of Panagiotis Trisokkas, who is retiring from active action. Anthony King was the leader of the match with 23 points (9 rebounds, 2 assists).

The two teams scored two points in the first minute of the match (Raines for ENP, King for Lightning). Eight points followed for the hosts (six Evans, two Raines) with the score going to 10-2. By 5:30 the Lightning scored five points (four by King, one by Channels) reducing to 10-7. One and a half minutes later the guests equalized to 12-12, while in the 8th minute the hosts were ahead 16-13. Before the final of the season, the team of Christoforos Livadiotis scored another six points (from three King-Barkers) bringing the score to 19-16.
With five points, Keravnos entered the second period (Haggins scored three points, Barker scored two) bringing the score to 24-16. By 13:30 the hosts reduced the difference to five (26-21), while a minute and a half later Keravnos was ahead 30-24. This was followed by four points for the team of Nikolas Papadopoulos, with the Filler-Evans (30-28), while then King with five points and Barker with two brought the difference to nine (37-28). In the 18th minute, Trisokkas reduced to 37-30, while a little later, Barker brought Keravnos forward again with nine points (39-30). Then Trisokkas reduced the difference to seven again (39-32), while then Keravnos scored five points (Willis three points, Balogan two) bringing the score to 44-32. Before the end of the half, Balogan reduced to 44-35 with a three-pointer.
Koronidis with three points brought forward Keravnos with 47-35, while three points followed for ENP (two Raines, one Filler) which reduced to 47-38, in 25 '. In the next two minutes the score went to 50-42, while until the 29th minute King with two free throws brought the difference to ten (52-42). Before the end of the quarter, both teams scored a three-pointer (Evans for ENP, Michael for Keravnos) with the score going to 55-45.
With a three-pointer by Haggins and two points by King, Keravnos started the fourth quarter (60-45). By 32:30 the score was 61-49, while then Willis nailed it to make it 63-49. Then the Union was improved and by 7 'scored six points, while conceding two, reducing to 65-55. Then both teams scored two points (Filler for ENP, Channels for Lightning) with the score going to 67-57, while until 39:15 ENP scored four more points with Evans-Raines, reducing to 67- 61. At 39:30, Channels with a free kick brought Keravnos ahead with 68-61, while then Evans with three points reduced to 68-64. Before the end of the match, Haggins with a free throw made the final 69-64.
