The celebrations in Paralimni for the 11th Famagusta Carnival culminated with great success yesterday.
The carnival parade that took place at 2 pm in the center of Paralimni was attended by 24 teams with a total of 3.000 carnivalgoers, while more than 30 thousand spectators who watched the groups and the chariots parade.
The parade was led by the chariot of the Carnival King, which this year was taken over by the Municipality of Ayia Napa with the crowned Maria Armenaki as "Aphrodite of Cape Greco".
The parade was opened by a chariot dedicated to the decorator George Kogionis who "left" unexpectedly last October.
The groups consisted of organized ensembles, dance groups, but also the local authorities of the province of Famagusta.
