A large amount of prohibited hunting was confiscated in Kakopetria

The Fund of Thera confiscated 623 killed wild birds during searches following court orders in restaurants and houses in the community of Kakopetria, in collaboration with members of the Nicosia OPE… As mentioned in a statement of the Fund of Thera, seven houses were searched and two restaurants in which a total of 623 wild birds and 87 woodpeckers were found and confiscated, while four persons were charged in writing and released.

As noted, the above confiscated wild birds include birds from twelve different species, some of which are considered very rare while two species of birds are endemic to Cyprus.
