With the established parade and the Pandemic Celebration, the Municipality of Sotiras celebrated the National Anniversary of October 28th. On the day of the Anniversary, in the established Doxology, the Solemnity of the day was announced by the Director of the President of the Republic, Mr. Panagiotis Antoniou. Wreaths were laid at the Monument of the Fallen and Missing Savior, and a trisagion was performed in memory of the fallen heroes.
Afterwards, the Sotiras Catechism Meetings and the Public and Private Educational Centers of our Municipality performed the established parade on Makarios C 'Avenue, which was attended by a large number of attendees.
Afterwards, the Sotiras Catechism Band participated in the big parade of the Famagusta province in Paralimni, where it received the best impressions. It is worth noting that the historical band of Sotiras Catechism is the most populous, since it has more than 80 members.
On the evening of October 28, the traditional Pandemic Celebration for the National Anniversary of October 28 was held at the Municipal Theater of Sotira. The main speaker was the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Parliament and Parliamentary Representative of DISY in the province of Larnaca, Mr. George Tasos.
The event was attended by the Sotiras Municipal Choir, the Sotiras Traditional Dance Workshop of the Catholic Congregations, the dance department of the High School of Peace and Freedom under the tutelage of Professor Elena Takka and the Municipal Volunteer Group. The event was presented by the student Kyriakos Attounis.
