The Culture Committee of the Municipality of Sotiras Famagusta, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture, organized a Student Painting Exhibition of all Public and Private Primary and Secondary Education Schools of Famagusta with the theme: "I know, I do not know".
The schools of the occupied Rizokarpasos also participated in the exhibition. The inauguration was attended by students from the occupied Karpasia, as well as the art teacher, Mr. Fanis Sergiou who designed the poster of the competition and was the artistic curator of the exhibition.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture, Mr. Kyriakos Kenevezos, at the Municipal Palace of Sotiras.
The report, said in his greeting the Minister of Education and Culture, is a commendable initiative of the Municipality of Sotiras and has as its theme the triptych: "I know, I do not forget, I claim". I consider the choice of the subject of the exhibition very apt and successful, since it is one of the goals under emphasis, set by the Ministry of Education and Culture for this year 2013-14. Undoubtedly, continued Mr. Kenevezos, artistic creation is a form of expression, which provides artists with the opportunity to capture or interpret in their own way images from the world around them, creating stories and expressing emotions. Through art, artists send their own messages to society and the world. The students of the schools of the province of Famagusta, including the schools of Rizokarpasos, have been involved in a creative process by sending, through art, their own messages for the liberation and reunification of our homeland and our people by peaceful means and on its basis. implementation of fundamental human rights and freedoms.
The exhibition was attended by: the Elementary and the High School of Rizokarpaso with a total of 10 admirable works of art, the A ', B' and C 'Elementary Sotiras, the Elementary School of the Achnas Forest, the Elementary School of Agios Georgios-Vrysoulon-Acheritos, the A ', B' and C 'Primary School of Deryneia, the Primary School of Frenaros, the XNUMXnd Primary School of Paralimni, the Xenion Highschool, the Lyceum of Paralimni, the High School of Peace and Freedom (Sotiras-Deryneia) and the Technical Schools of Avgoros and Paralimni.
The selection of projects was made after an in-school competition in which a project was selected from each class (from each year) of the schools.
