Tokyo 2020: Miltos Tentoglou is the Olympic gold medalist in Length

Greek champion Miltos Tentoglou became the Olympic gold medalist in the long jump today, winning the second gold medal for Greece at the Tokyo Olympics.

Tentoglou in the men's length final, with a jump of 8.41 m. Won the first place in the 6th and his last jump, overturning all the data. Up to that point, the Greek jumper was 4th in the ranking.

Pushing just 2 cm behind the limit, Tentoglu reached 8.41 m. Cuban Juan Miguel Ecevaria had the same jump from his third jump, but Tentoglu was much better in all his other jumps and climbed to the highest pedestal step.

In his first jump, the Greek champion had a jump of 8.13 two centimeters above Ecevarias (8.11), taking a "head" from the beginning in the battle for the gold medal. At the end of the first series, however, Michael Masso was the one who made the biggest jump at 8.21.

In the second set of jumps, Ecevaria was invalid, as was Tentoglou with Maso maintaining the lead at 8.21, as he jumped just 8.05. In the third row, however, Ecevaria made a very big jump at 8.41 m, climbing first, while Tentoglou made a second consecutive invalid jump, staying in third place.

In the next trio of jumps for the first eight athletes in length, Tentoglou remained at the limits of his first jump (8.10), jumping 10.9 cm behind the maximum allowable limit, with the American Juven Harrison overtaking him in his 5th jump with 8.15.

In the fifth jump, the Greek champion pushed 12.4 million behind the limit and caught Harrison at 8.15, but overall had better jumps than the American and re-entered the medals.

The Spaniard Caceres with a jump of 8.18 in his sixth attempt threw Tentoglou in 4th place.

In his 6th attempt, Tentoglou made his best jump and won the gold.
