The young woman who is being treated in the last days at the Regional University General Hospital of Patras with coronavirus finally gave birth yesterday by caesarean section.
The health of the 32-year-old from Zakynthos showed deterioration and the doctors decided to proceed to a caesarean section, while immediately after the emergency delivery she was intubated.
According to information from thebest.gr, she gave birth to a baby boy who entered the incubator directly, as it is quite premature.
The young mother is suffering from coronavirus and her doctors administered oxygen with a mask, with the sole purpose of "taking" the fetus as many days as she could, after she was in the 7th month of her pregnancy.
After yesterday's deterioration of her health, it signaled an "alarm" in order for the baby to be born safely and, of course, for the 32-year-old to be intubated. The woman remains intubated outside the ICU, while her transfer to the ICU of the General State Hospital of Patras "Agios Andreas" is expected.
It is recalled that the woman had not been vaccinated.
