The book "The Silence of Captivity: A Conversation with Dimitris Toumazis, a prisoner during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus" by the author Vivian Avraamidou-Ploumpi, was presented in an atmosphere of emotion in the presence of Varosians. The presentation took place at the Journalism Center in Nicosia on April 25, 2024.

The speakers at the event were the director and photographer Michalis Georgiadis, the Director of the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus Mr. Yannis Toumazis and the Associate Professor of the Department of History and Archeology of the University of Cyprus Mr. Petros Papapolyviou.

The author of the book points out that the book does not focus on the war but on the man in the war, highlighting uncharted wounds and feelings that remained hidden in the depths of the heart for half a century. She follows Mr. Toumazi's words word for word, incorporating her own thoughts, creating a documentary prose.

The presentation of the book was attended by Mr. Giorgos Maroudis, former President of the Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member of its Board of Directors.
