Steve Bannon, former head of President Donald Trump's White House strategy, was responsible for implementing a program at Cambridge Analytica to collect data through Facebook.

This information was used to create personal pages (profiles) on the mentioned social networking medium, according to an article in the newspaper "The Washington Post" which cites a former employee of the company and is broadcast by CNN.

Bannon was vice president of the company until his resignation, to run for president in August 2016.

The program tested phrases used by Trump's campaign to influence voters, Chris Wiley told the newspaper.

Wiley told the Post that the company spent about $ 1 million on information in 2014. These included personal Facebook pages, which were approved by Bannon.

"We had to have Bannon approval for anything at that time. "Bannon was the boss of Alexander Knicks," Wiley said, referring to Cambridge Analytica's chief executive, who was fired yesterday following reports of his involvement in corruption scandals and "sabotage".

"Alexander Knicks was not authorized to spend that much money without approval," Wiley said, referring to Bannon.
