The most expensive in Europe and perhaps in the world
ΟI create it to be called the most expensive Christmas tree in Europe and perhaps the world. A gold trading company in Munich, Pro Aurum, has created a festive Christmas tree of 2.088 gold coins and a real gold star on top worth a total of € 2,3 million.
They may look like chocolate coins wrapped in foil that many children will find in their festive socks, but these are after all real 20 ounce coins. The whole tree consists of up to 63 kilos of pure gold, according to a spokesman for Pro Aurum to Reuters.
In collaboration with the Austrian Mint, the three-meter-tall tree took over an hour to assemble and will remain in the Pro Aurum store in Munich until December 15. Τthe funny thing is that expensive the same tree a few months ago would have cost more if the price of gold had not fallen in the second half of 2018.
