According to completely safe information, the changes of persons will be made in two installments, starting from the beginning of February, a month which marks a change in the position of the Deputy Chief of Staff, as well as the Assistant Chiefs.
In the first phase, until mid-February, the second floor of the Police Headquarters will acquire new tenants.
Given the retirement of the current Deputy Chief Christakis Mavris, the succession scenario converges, as ANT1 is validly informed, to one person.

The predominant successor of Christakis Mavris is the current Assistant Chief Operating Officer, Dimitris Dimitriou, who has an important parameter over other candidates: he is the oldest of the four current Assistant Chiefs of Staff. A competent source told ANT1 that the criteria for the appointment of the current Deputy Chief was similar. so it would not be at all unlikely that this precedent would be followed again.

The apparent appointment of Dimitris Dimitriou as Deputy Chief of Staff will create a vacuum in the Business sector in which he leads. And at this point, it has been started for quite some time now, intense gossip and background, as they are arguing for the position of more than one person. Although there is plenty of time until mid-February to make the final decisions, some names do seem to be gaining the lead in filling specific posts, including the Assistant Chief of Staff. According to reliable information, either Christoforos Mavromatis, now Assistant Chief of Staff, or Giannakis Georgiou, currently the Nicosia Police Director, are intended to succeed Dimitris Dimitriou.
