Sentence of 9 months to 20 years in prison for burglary and theft

The Paphos District Court today sentenced a 20-year-old resident of Paphos to nine months in prison, after finding him guilty in a case of burglary and theft.

The burglary was reported to the Paphos Police on December 22, 2021. According to the complainant, between December 21 and 22, 2021, strangers broke into his home and stole a TV, a computer, a watch and an empty wallet.

The police examinations provided a testimony against the 20-year-old, who was arrested on December 23, under a court order.

At the end of the police investigation, the 20-year-old was charged in writing, a criminal case was filed and the case was registered in the Paphos District Court for trial.

Following the hearing, the Court today found the 20-year-old guilty of the crimes of burglary and burglary. For these two offenses he was sentenced to nine and five months in prison respectively. According to the decision of the Court, the two sentences meet.
