A new case of dog murder in the community of Lympia in the province of Nicosia occurred on Monday.
With an announcement, the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation made the news known, stating that an unknown person "threw poisons in the area, with the result that the well-known throughout the village" Loukanikos "lost his life".
Speaking on the front page, the owner of the dog, Charalambos Charalambous, stated that "Sausage" was the trademark of Lympia.
"Monday afternoon the dog came to our yard, we were shaking, he was distressed and had foam in his mouth, we realized that he had eaten fola.
We immediately took him to the vet but we did not catch him, he told us that he was in a very bad condition, we are obviously unhappy. "During the 10 years we had the dog, we were never told of any incident that bothered him," said Mr. Charalambous.
Asked if the person who poisoned the dog has been identified, he said, "We got a call from the Police and the ecologists but they have not found anything so far. "These incidents must stop happening."
He further added that such incidents have occurred twice more but with cats, but the perpetrator has not been identified.
