2018 could be a critical year, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu said, adding that they must work with the Turkish Cypriot leadership on what to do with the Cyprus talks, which is why a 'government' needs to be formed as soon as possible. .

The Turkish Foreign Minister, informing the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish National Assembly, said that 2017 was a useful year for Cyprus and that efforts were made for a lasting solution to the Cyprus problem.

"There is pessimism about the formation of a government after the elections in the TRNC. I hope they put aside statements like 'we are not going for an alliance' and a government is formed. In order for us to take our steps regarding the TRNC but also for the decision on what to do with the negotiations on the Cyprus issue, we must take it together. In this respect, 2018 can be a critical year ", said Mevlüt Tsavousoglou.
