Cyprus is still in a state of heat today, with the temperature inside reaching 40 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Service due to the high temperatures issued a new yellow warning that comes into force at 12:00 noon on Sunday.
Today the weather will be mostly clear. The winds will blow initially variable weak 3 and locally up to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort, to gradually become southwesterly to northwesterly, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the south coast in the afternoon to strong 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 35 on the south, east and north coasts, around 31 degrees on the west coast and 32 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly clear. The winds will initially blow mainly southwesterly to northwesterly 3 and locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort to later become mainly northwesterly to northeasterly 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent and to the west a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees inland, on the east and south coasts, around 22 on the rest of the coast and around 18 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will be mostly clear. The temperature is not expected to change significantly during the three days to remain above the average climatic values.
