On November 23, 1912, the then Prime Minister, reformer of the Greek state and reformer of Hellenism, Eleftherios Venizelos, sent a letter to Anorthosis Famagusta, with his warm thanks as head of the Greek state, for the contribution of Anorthosis and its members. in the national fundraiser.
The members of the reading room - as the Association was registered at the time - collected in the large fundraiser held in Famagusta, the legendary amount of 1025 drachmas for the time.
The letter was written in a pan-Hellenic atmosphere of enthusiasm, since a month earlier - on October 26, 1912, of Agios Dimitrios - the Greek Army was liberating Thessaloniki!
The original letter is not preserved, however an exact copy is on display in the museum of the Association.
