The event held by the Achna Youth Center on Friday night (23/8) on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the illegal occupation of Achna by the Turkish invaders on August 28, 2019, shook the thrill.
In the square of the refugee community Dasaki Achna, which was then the forest that hosted the displaced people of Achni and refugees from the whole province of Famagusta, tents were set up which represented the days of the black August 1974 and the uprooting.

The event was enriched with stories from people who lived through those difficult first nights in the tents, as well as screenings of excerpts from reports filmed at the time.
Kiosks were also set up at the site for an exhibition of items that some of the residents managed to take with them at the time of the eviction from their homes, as well as an exhibition of photographs from that period. Finally, a kiosk was set up, which offered food to the participants, analogous to the then meal.
