At a press conference held today Tuesday in Liopetri River, the organizing committee of the 1st Liopetri Carrot Festival and members of the Liopetri Community Council presented the new recipes that will be presented at the Festival based on the carrot.
Chef Andreas Paskouis was also there, who presented one of the recipes, carrot croquettes with chocolate filling.
The Vice President of the Community Council of Liopetri Mr. Vassos Manolis, the Community Advisors Mr. George Paparlas and Stelios Stylianou and the President of the Organizing Committee Mr. Andri Modestou gave relevant information about the entire organization of the Festival.

The Organizing Committee of the Festival through its announcement expresses its deep sorrow for the catastrophic, deadly fires in Greece and the loss of innocent people. Therefore and due to the fact that it is impossible to cancel the festival, as a sign of support, it informs visitors that in the area there will be a kiosk where they can deliver food and clothing to be sent to Greece.
The 1st Liopetri Carrot Festival
The Community Council of Liopetri, in the context of promoting agricultural products, produced in the community of Liopetri, is planning a Pancyprian Carrot Festival on Friday, July 27, 2018. The festival, which will take place at the Community Stadium "ACHYRON" in Liopetri, will start at 8 p.m. and admission will be free.
There will be kiosks in the festival area, where 15 products will be sold, with carrot as the main material such as dessert and jam, carrot cakes (individual and family), carrot-flavored pancakes, donuts with cream and carrot jam, carrot ice cream and syrup carrot for ice cream. Carrot juice, daisy and cocktail will also be sold. At the same time, there will be kiosks with skewers, kleftiko, hot dogs with koslo salad, carrots, vinegar, fried carrots with eggs, crepes and various drinks.
A special place in the festival will have the executive chefs of the community, Andreas Paskoui, Christos Paskoui, Costas Santi and Elias Elias, who together with a large team of cooks will prepare gourmet creations, with carrot as the main material.
All guests will have the opportunity to try, for free, shots with carrot mousse, celery root and chutney made of rose petals, tortillas with carrot cream, mango, parmesan and tarragon cheese and bullet carrot with dill-dried tomatoes and avocado mayonnaise, avocado mayonnaise Council of Liopetri. Also, the chefs will present for demonstration the following alternative recipes with carrot: (1) carrot biscuits with lavender, crab and truffle oil, (2) camembert nest with carrot garlic, tahini and red pepper, (3) pork of purple carrot, candied rainbow carrots and sweet basil jelly, (4) sauteed carrots with cumin oil-ginger mushrooms and champagne-orange sauce, (5) carrot croquettes with orange, green cardamom and chocolate filling (Chef Andreas, Paskou) ) carrot flutes with mascarpone cheese, glazed fruit and strawberry kouli (Chef Flora Paskoui) and (6) pork fillet with carrot and feta filling, grilled vegetables and creamy sauce with tarragon (Chef Elias Elias).
At the same time, the event will offer the possibility of entertainment with a four-hour music program, which will feature Costa Doxas, Sasha Basta, Tina Kazi and Giannis Sofilas.
The festival is under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis and will be attended by the Honorable Minister of Interior Mr. Konstantinos Petridis.
The logo
The logo of the Carrot Festival is inspired by the Tradition of Liopetri and specifically by the art of basket weaving. The shape results from the combination of the shapes of the basket and the carrot. It combines different ways of knitting, which symbolize: agriculture (green color), water - Liopetri River (blue color) and the very art of basket weaving (brown color).
It was designed by Niki's Bookshop and the graphic designer, Agamemnon Honey.
