The handwritten letter of an indignant high school student that should concern us all

An indignant girl sent us a handwritten letter and wrote us everything that is happening today and hurts her.

Unfortunately…

We live in a time when no one is happy with anything. What matters most is our external image and not our internal image at all. In other words, we attach great importance to the "appearance" and not at all to the "is". We became people without depth. Everything for the world to see us, how to impress, from the external appearance to the pretense.
Nothing reminds us of the past anymore, when success was our spiritual uplift and not our external "profile". When we laughed more easily and had simpler and purer requirements. When our dreams were beautiful and we were optimistic about everything around us.
But how do we protect our children from the age of vanity and downfall?
An indignant girl sent us a handwritten letter and writes us everything that is happening today and hurts her. What her classmates dream and discuss with each other. This letter should definitely concern us all…

The young student's letter states:

"Dear gentlemen of the media
I'm sending you this letter because I really can not stand it anymore.
The age we live in makes us more unhappy than happy. All of us, young and old, pay much more attention to "appearing" and not at all to "being". Basically, "appearing" became an end in itself and you are definitely responsible for that as well.
Hardly any young person really loves himself and constantly wants to change him, to look like the wrong role models you are constantly projecting nowadays. Have you ever wondered how much your children are influenced by the wrong behaviors of celebrities?
Most girls mistakenly have plastic surgery on their bodies to look like celebrities. Rarely do you hear girls not wanting to have even a plastic surgery. Almost no one likes her face and body and they want to look like someone else. Thus, you create a great competition between them and a hostility.
I'm really tired of hearing my classmates talk only about the Kardashians at breaks, trying to look like them by exaggerating their appearance, becoming provocative and ridiculous in the end. It really does not fit in my mind, that a 16-year-old girl has in mind only how to look like Kardashian and how to marry a rich and famous man and not what he will study and what he will achieve in life. I'm sorry that few girls are now interested in their character and education.
Unfortunately, most parents no longer talk to their children, they no longer give advice like my grandmother did to my mom. Basically, I noticed that in young children no one can say "no". We talk abruptly to our parents and we only learned to ask, that's what I found out. Young people do not respect anything and all we want and think, is money and fame, our only dream.
When I told all this to one of my teachers, he told me that young children live in a world of imaginary overconsumption, ready to sacrifice every value on the altar of money and not to achieve the best result by fighting for perfection, as self-aware citizens. He is absolutely right.
Most children today are full of insecurities and whining and only deal with the TV characters, what they wore, where they went and what they did. Nothing substantial anymore.

Please stop all channels and all magazines from displaying the wrong templates. Stop distorting the right image and the right standards that young people should have. I would really be very happy if the Kardashians were imprisoned. If some people finally understood how bad these women are doing to all of us young women and not only. If you knew what young girls are talking about and dreaming about today, you adults would be ashamed, you would like to fix this society that you destroyed and we children are paying for it. We are your projects!
Sincerely Yours
Eleni Georgiou
