Eating any food usually reduces hunger and causes a feeling of fullness. But how complete you will feel and for how long, varies depending on the type of food. Foods that are high in fat, fiber and protein make you feel full.

In contrast, foods that do not contain these elements may push you to starve earlier.

Here are four foods you eat and after a while you're hungry again:

Multigrain bread

It is rich in fiber but also more processed than other wholemeal breads made from a type of cereal (oats, quinoa, etc.). It is also low in fat and protein.

Egg whites

They are an excellent source of protein, are very low in calories and do not contain any fat. Prefer whole eggs, as their yolk contains many nutrients, such as lutein and in combination with the egg white protein they are a complete food.

Fruit juices

They contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and fiber, but no protein and fat. Although some packaged natural juices claim to contain 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables, when one consumes them one finds that one is not satisfied, as if one were consuming them in their original form.

Wholemeal crackers

As with wholemeal bread, wholemeal crackers offer fiber, but you get mostly carbohydrates and not protein or fat. That way you won't feel full. Combine them with something greasy like peanut butter or a little cheese.
