They were held on Wednesday, October 12, by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Constantia/Ammochosto, Mr. Vasilios and the Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettos, the inauguration of the renovation of the Medieval Square of Agia Napa, which is located on the north side of the Medieval Monastery.

In his greeting, the Mayor referred to the history of the decision to redevelop the square of an area, which he said was degraded and "we managed to create a point of reference on the north side of the Monastery".

He also emphasized that through this renovation a thematic unit was created, which refers us and takes us back to the Middle Ages, with a project as he said, which will attract both young and old but at the same time will connect the Monastery with the City Center inside from a graphic upgrade of this space.
A place, he added, which is of vital and historical importance and "we have an obligation to upgrade and give this quality of life and also the upgrading of the surrounding area for the good of all".

In his greeting, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Constantia/Ammochosto Mr. Basilios expressed his satisfaction with the completion of the project, which as he said is an extension of the work being done in the Monastery and wished that it would soon be completed and give the image of Agia Napa from which, as he said, the Municipality got its name.
The Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Antonis Hatzichristou, in his own greeting, thanked the Mayor, the Municipal Council for the decision to implement the project, Mr. Kikis Konstantinou for the advisory role he played as well as the artists for the works they have created.

The Medieval Square is decorated with works by the Cypriot Artists Maria Kyprianou and Panikkos Spanou, who in their own greeting thanked the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettos and the Municipal Council for the commission to paint their creations and Mr. Kikis Constantinou for the guidance and his advice.
During the event, Medieval Banners were hung by groups participating in the Medieval Festival and an artistic program was presented by Marianna Hatzichristou (singing) and Mara Filippou (Piano).

Souvenirs were also given to all those who contributed to the realization of the square and a plaque of honor was given to Mr. Kikis Konstantinou for his contribution to the creation of the square.
