The government closes the Famagusta Hospital
As AKEL for the umpteenth time, we called on the Anastasiadis-DISY government, observing the growing trend of covid cases, to proceed with a comprehensive plan to deal with the pandemic, staffing all state hospitals, especially the Famagusta hospital. Instead, they close the chambers one after the other.
Everyone knows that the Famagusta Hospital during the summer months has increased needs and has not received satisfactory provisions to serve the residents of the area, tourists and patients with COVID.
With regret we observe that, the Government and the Board of OKYPY, were forced into a naughty retreat proving their inaction and unpreparedness to face the 4th wave of the pandemic. It is clear that the government did not have and does not have any action plan to deal with the increase in cases.
There are no excuses, we are already in the 4th wave of pandemics and the government of Nikos Anastasiadis should have prepared the public hospitals.
Unfortunately, the residents of the Famagusta Free Zone are considered by the Anastasiadis-DISY government to be second-class citizens.
