The Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA) condemns the new Turkish plans for the occupied Famagusta.
A written statement said that "Famagusta's EBE is expressing strong concerns about the new provocative announcements and the new plans of the Turkish side for the occupied Famagusta. The initiatives announced by the Turkish side "to create a team of experts who will record assets and the situation in the enclosed area of Famagusta" are nothing more than a blatant violation of UN resolutions on the occupied city.
In this context, he added, "EVEA is mobilizing with the actions of the government and the Municipality of Famagusta and will denounce the Turkish actions in all embassies in Cyprus of the member states of the European Union and the permanent members of the UN Security Council."
EVEA reiterates that "the only acceptable solution for Famagusta is to return it to its legal residents, which is also provided for in relevant UN resolutions".
