In his speech, the Mayor of Famagusta, Alexis Galanos stated that "We are here to tell the President that the people and the people here are mourning. The people want a solution in the right context. Addressing the President of the Republic, Alexis Galanos said: "President, you are moving in the direction of the solution as you were moving in the run-up to the elections. There may be establishments that do not want a solution, but your backwardness is based on the solution of the Cyprus problem ".

After the speeches and after the delegation of the Municipality entered the Presidential Palace to deliver the memorandum, there was a small tension at the event between groups of attendees. Specifically a group of protesters shouted slogans such as "Cyprus is GREEK" and a second group answered "Cyprus belongs to its people", resulting in tension.

In addition to ordinary citizens, the event is attended by dozens of organizations, associations, unions, occupied municipalities and communities, joining their voices, with the aim of bringing the issue of Famagusta back to the forefront. Also present at the event were several MPs and party officials, as well as former state officials.

The gathered people shout slogans and hold placards with slogans like "Save Famagusta", "The Only Solution is Reunification", "Indifference is enough. Famagusta invites us " and "One is our tower and this is Othello". Many also hold placards with the slogan "Famagusta in front", while others hold Cypriot flags and flags that read "Peace", in Greek and Turkish.
