The first Green Point in the free province of Famagusta begins in the community of Avgorou.
The Department of Water Development announced on April 22, 2024 the tender for the construction of the Green Point in the community of Avgoros.
The project is financed by the EU Recovery and Resilience Mechanism within the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan, while the estimated value of the project is eight hundred and ten thousand (€810.000,00) euros. Bidders have until May 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to submit bids. The Estimated date of announcement of the results of the tender is 3 months from the date of submission of the Tenders
The Green Spot in Avgorou will accept various household waste, such as cleaning materials, paints, thermometers, medicines, lamps, batteries, plastic containers, metal objects, toys, furniture, mattresses, paper packaging, prunings, paper, glass, plastic, aluminum , fabrics, carpets, DIY materials, wood, aggregates, waste electrical equipment and motor oils.
The green spot in the community will also serve Liopetri, Dasaki Achnas, Aheritou-Vrysoulles, Xylofagou and half of Sotira, Xylotymbou, Ormidia and Oroklini.
The Green Point in the community of Avgorou is the first of three in the province of Famagusta, while other Green Points will follow in the municipalities of Sotiras and Deryneia.
