The Municipality of Ayia Napa and the "Aroma" Association of Ayia Napa Friends of the Sculpture Park organize two-day celebrations on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
The celebrations were originally scheduled to take place in March but due to the measures for the coronavirus were postponed to a new date and specifically on 12 and 13 June 2021 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of national polygenesis since the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and its historic event. of the unique battle of Ayia Napa between Greek revolutionaries and Turkish guards that took place on March 17, 1826 ".
It adds that "the two-day events of Ayia Napa have been included in the calendar of official celebrations of the" Greece 2021 "Commission and the Cyprus Celebrations Committee and were placed under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis".
The announcement also states that "the former President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos will be present at the two-day celebrations, who accepted a relevant invitation from the Municipality of Ayia Napa, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulidis.
