An event for volunteering in the spirit of Christmas with the message "Christmas Volunteering and Love" was held yesterday in the event hall of the Municipality of Agia Napa.
The Event was organized by the Famagusta Community Police, in collaboration with the Famagusta Provincial Volunteer Coordinating Council (ESSEA) and the Municipality of Agia Napa.
The Event was held under the Patronage of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zanettos.
The event was greeted with relevant speeches by the president of the Provincial Coordinating Council, Mr. Vassos Christodoulou, the Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, the President of the Pan-Cypriot Volunteer Coordinating Council, Mr. Ilias Dimitriou, and the Head of Community Policing of the Famagusta Police Department, No. 1593 Pierakis Glykainou.
In addition to the speeches, the event included an artistic program with Christmas tunes from the Police Philharmonic.
Also during the event, honorary plaques were presented to volunteers of Famagusta District.
The event was attended by the Archpriest Fr. Vasilios, the Community Elders of Liopetriou, Avgorou and D. Achnas, a representative of the National Guard, a representative of the Famagusta Welfare Office, representatives of organized communities of Famagusta Province and about 200 people.
On behalf of the Police Directorate of Famagusta, the Head of the Police Station of Agia Napa, Mr. D. Prokopiou, attended.
