AGIA NAPA: Two persons are wanted for the attempted kidnapping

The authorities are looking for the two hooded men who tried to grab a man from a beach bar lounger

Two people, which they allegedly tried to they kidnap a man at noon on Saturday July 8, on a beach in Ayia Napa, they are wanted by the Police.

As the Police press representative, Christos Andreou, reported to KYPE, at around 4.30 in the afternoon of Saturday 8 July, the Police received information about attempted kidnapping.

Members of the Police went to a specific beach in Ayia Napa. From the investigations carried out it was established that two persons wearing a hood over their faces allegedly grabbed a 35-year-old man from the sunbed where he was lying and took him to another part of the beach.

Mr. Andreou added that "as the complainant reported to the Police, at some point he resisted, as a result of which the two hoodedto leave him and run away. The 35-year-old suffered abrasions in various parts of his body from the shootings of the strangers and was taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where after receiving first aid he was discharged."

He said that “the Police issued arrest warrants against twopersons who are wanted. The Force's investigations are continuing in order to cross-examine the case, to ensure the necessary testimony to be brought before the Court".

Mr. Andreou described the case as "very serious", said that it is an isolated incident" and noted that "it is a matter that concerns the Police".

Certainly, Mr. Andreou continued, "we don't see such incidents every day. However, we are trying to track them down perpetrators because only in this way will we send the message that no such action is tolerated and that the Police will take the necessary actions to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice."
