The 19-year-old British woman filed an appeal against the decision of the Famagusta District Court, after the suspended prison sentence imposed on her for false testimony about gang rape.

According British Daily Mail article, the young woman filed an appeal on Thursday against the decision in the Supreme Court of Cyprus, while she maintains that she will continue the fight she is fighting to "clear" her name.

Speaking to the newspaper, Michael Polak, one of the 19-year-old's lawyers and a spokesman for Justice Abroad, said the young woman "did not receive a fair trial" and that her conviction violated her rights.

It is recalled that the Court imposed a sentence of four months imprisonment with a three-year suspension and a fine of 140 euros for court costs.

In his sentencing decision, the judge of the Famagusta District Court spoke for the second time to the 19-year-old and took into account the young man of her age, but also the academic year he lost.
