Famagusta District: He collided with a patrol car while trying to escape - 25-year-old arrested

Around 11 last night, members of YKAN (Famagusta Ladder) using the lighthouses of the patrol vehicle they were riding in, tried to stop a vehicle for inspection.

The driver of the car did not comply with the signal of the police and in his attempt to escape, he collided with a patrol vehicle.

The car in question was finally stopped by other official vehicles and during the inspection, it was found that it was driven by a 25-year-old with a 29-year-old as a co-driver and both residents of the province of Famagusta. The 25-year-old was arrested for the self-inflicted crime of negligent and reckless acts.

A search of the car turned up a handmade cannabis-mixed cigarette, two methamphetamine-containing syringes, a precision-scaled cannabis scale, a metal bat and two pepper sprays.

The two occupants of the car were taken to the offices of YKAN where the 29-year-old was released while the 25-year-old was taken into custody.

The driver of the patrol car was transported to the General Hospital of Famagusta where he was given first aid and then he was discharged after being granted a two-day sick leave.

YKAN (Famagusta Ladder) in collaboration with the Ayia Napa Police Station continue the examinations.
