Members of the Port and Maritime Police were called today to a rescue operation of a person who was in danger of drowning at sea, in the province of Famagusta. He is a 36-year-old man from Nicosia, who was rescued by the lifeguards and the contribution of the police crew of the Paralimni Naval Station.

Around 1.30 on Friday afternoon, information was received that a person in danger is at sea, in the area of ​​Cape Greco.

Lifeguards as well as a police officer of the Paralimni Naval Station sailed to locate and rescue the person in danger. The crew of the akato located at sea, near the shore in Cape Greco, the 36-year-old, who was calling for help, since due to the rocks on the shore, he was unable to return to land.

The 36-year-old was rescued from the water by lifeguards and members of the Port and Maritime Police, they provided him with first aid and oxygen, after he was exhausted and they took him to the fishing shelter of Paralimni where shortly after 2.00 pm the 36-year-old died. and was taken to Famagusta General Hospital for medical examinations.

According to the treating doctors, the 36-year-old is in good health, however he is being held at the General Hospital for follow-up.
