New arrest for laughing gas in Ayia Napa

A 54-year-old man was arrested today in Ayia Napa as a suspect in a case involving the illegal sale of laughing gas.

According to the Police, around one o'clock in the morning, on the basis of specific information, members of the Force conducted a search in a nightclub in Ayia Napa.

During the search, a bottle, three unused and 71 used ampoules and 50 balloons were found and confiscated.

The investigation was carried out in the presence of the 54-year-old owner of the premises, who before the investigation was seen by the members of the Police, selling to a tourist, a balloon, which is believed to contain nitrous oxide.

The 54-year-old was arrested for a self-inflicted crime, taken to the Ayia Napa Police Station, where he was charged in writing and released to be summoned before a Court at a later stage.

The Agia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
