The official ambassador of the Ayia Napa marina since yesterday is Pavlos Kontidis, Olympian and two-time World Sailing Champion, who will represent it in Cyprus and abroad.
A press release states that the cooperation was announced during a press conference held on Wednesday 26/9 in Nicosia, Stavros Karamontanis, CEO of MM Makronisos Marina Ltd thanked Pavlos Kontidis for the cooperation and noted that "this assignment expresses the dynamic the company's approach to the renewed model of Cypriot tourism that seeks and can conquer international leadership ".
He added that "we are very proud that Pavlos Kontidis accepted the invitation and takes on the role of ambassador for the marina of Ayia Napa" since as he explained "he has a vision, works hard, aims at success beyond the narrow confines of our small country and dares to make it a reality his dream internationally ".
According to Mr. Karamontanis, "in the marina of Ayia Napa we work very hard, with enthusiasm and courage and we implement a project of international scope, which will put Cyprus on the world map of maritime tourism and more. The marina of Ayia Napa is a jewel for the region and Cyprus in general and we believe that together with Pavlos, and a common point of reference for our love for the sea and Cyprus, we will continue the journey to make the marina world famous ".
For his part, Pavlos Kontidis said that his new duties are fully in line with his love for the sea and "the belief that Cyprus deserves to be at the top of the top nautical tourism destinations, which include, precisely, the development project of the Marina of Ayia Napa ".
The press release also states that "having already secured his qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Pavlos Kontidis is the ideal ambassador of a project that claims the title of the ultimate, maritime, international tourist destination, which is none other than the Marina of Ayia Napa ".
According to the press release, the works of the Ayia Napa marina, the works are progressing rapidly and it is already planned in the second half of 2019 to open its gates for the reception of the first boats. At the same time, the delivery to the public of restaurants, cafes and shops, which constitute the first phase of operation of the project, will begin.
At the same time, the construction works of the two towers and the villas continue and will be delivered gradually, based on the schedule. The east tower will be delivered by the end of 2020 and the west tower by the end of 2021, while the final delivery of the entire project will be in 2021.
It is reminded that the marina of Ayia Napa is located between the beaches of Agia Thekla and Makronisos, provides for the construction of 190 spacious, luxury apartments in two towers, 29 luxury villas, a marina with berthing capacity and providing integrated services to 600 boats.
The project also provides a number of selected shops and restaurants that will offer high quality services and amenities to residents and visitors of the marina.
