Ayia Napa tourism ambassadors were named three couples from Great Britain.

A written announcement from the Municipality states that "the six British regular visitors were honored today, Tuesday, June 26, with the emblem of the Ambassador of Tourism of Ayia Napa and with a commemorative plaque for their numerous visits to the area. The highest distinction of the Municipality was awarded by the Deputy Mayor Christos Zannetou during a ceremony that took place at the Municipal Palace of Ayia Napa ".

The honorees are Bill and Margaret Taylor, who visited Ayia Napa 48 times, David and Carole Smith 30 times, and Keith and Josephine Willmott, who visited the area 18 times.

The Deputy Mayor "thanked the new ambassadors for their repeated visits for many years, which clearly prove their special preference for Ayia Napa. Rewarding regular visitors is of the utmost importance to the Ayia Napa Local Authority and "is the least we can do to reciprocate to our loyal friends in our city this great and practical love," he concluded.
