In statements to Famagusta.News, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karousos stated that the goal of the Municipality is to turn it into an attractive and cosmopolitan destination. New projects, such as the Ayia Napa marina that have mapped the city and attracted internationally renowned investors, can only be the first steps in proving the change in philosophy in the product offered so far.

At the same time, as he said, important steps are being taken to change the identity of the city. He said that a study on the strategic planning of the image of the city (City Branding) will be prepared soon, while a large-scale advertising campaign via the internet and social media will be launched immediately. Regarding the city, he noted the great work done in the hotel units through extensions, renovations and construction of new ones, the creation of themed beaches, the projects that give cultural identity, such as the Sculpture Park and other important changes that the Municipality will proceed such as solving the problem of noise pollution, attracting specific customers from hotel units and the image of the city by removing the illegal signs that has already begun.
