The Consumer Protection Service has published the price observatory for large supermarkets across Cyprus as well as for the province of Famagusta.
Regarding the method, the post states that: "Prices have been sought for a total of 401 products from a number of supermarkets in each Province. From these products have been isolated for each Province separately the "COMMON PRODUCTS" which are the products that were sold simultaneously from all the supermarkets of each Province. In this way a common shopping cart has been created for each Province, for which the total purchase cost is compared. It is emphasized that the basket "COMMON PRODUCTS" is different per Province. The common product basket does not include products that were on offer at the date of receipt of prices ".
