The headquarters of the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus must be located in the free province of Famagusta, claims the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettou, who welcomes the integration of AXIK in TEPAK.

In a written statement, the Mayor of Ayia Napa states that "we welcome the recent signing of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth and the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK), which provides for the inclusion of the Upper Cypriot Hotel at TEPAK ".

We express "our satisfaction for this very important decision of the Government for the upgrade and better operation of AXIK, something that we believe will result in the upgrading of the tourism industry and the quality of our country's tourism product."

At the same time, the announcement continues "we express our firm position that the headquarters of AXIK should be located in the free province of Famagusta because it is a province that is currently the top tourist destination in Cyprus, hosting more than 5 million tourist nights, with a large financial contribution to Cypriot economy. The free province of Famagusta is claiming important infrastructure projects over time and its state owes the upgrade of AXIK, because from this unjust, semi-occupied province, the recovery of the Cypriot economy began after the Turkish invasion ".

Christos Zannettou assures of "our willingness and readiness to work and cooperate with EVEA, all local authorities and local agencies in the province of Famagusta, in the evolution of AXIK as a modern academic institution that will provide a holistic curriculum tourism industry".
