In a heinous act, strangers proceeded in the Forest of Achna.
According to the Animal Party, strangers killed a fox and then hung it on a basketball hoop. The fox was hung from Saturday 28/05/2022 outside the church of Agia Marina in Dasaki Achna.
The announcement of the Party is as it is The Party for the Animals of Cyprus condemns the unacceptable, abominable, and macabre act of some of our fellow citizens, who after possibly killing a fox then hanged it in a basketball hoop. A citizen in a state of shock came in contact and informed the Party for the Animals of Cyprus about this tragic event (photo). The Party immediately undertook further investigation into this case which is now ongoing. The fox was hung from Saturday 28/05/2022 outside the church of Agia Marina in Dasaki Achna (area of British Bases) and in the privately owned area of the church which is used as a parking lot. The fox was reportedly "killed" and then transported and placed in public view on a basketball hoop. The Base Police in collaboration with the Provincial Animal Welfare Committee managed to lower the fox (Sunday morning) and then received it by the Veterinary Service. The dead body of the fox is in Nicosia at the Veterinary Services where an autopsy will be performed to find out how he may have been killed. At the same time, the Base Police is making an effort to locate the person / persons who committed this illegal and creepy act. We hope that the culprits will eventually be found and punished accordingly. A strong message must finally be given that tolerance for such barbaric acts against innocent and defenseless animals will not continue. Finally, let us consider as European citizens whether such acts bring honor to our country and culture.
