Seven years after the brutal murder of Christina Kalaitsidou, whose death was initially attributed to an accident and had to be exhumed to determine what really happened by a Greek medical examiner, the Cypriot court has not yet rendered justice.

Recall that 29-year-old Christina Kalaitsidou was found dead in her bed at her home in Deryneia and left behind three children aged 5, 7 and 11 years. She had also given signs to the Police that she was in danger from her estranged husband, begging her to do something to protect her since she could not escape. The estranged husband broke into the house even from the balcony, knocking him down from the roof, which is why Christina had to lock herself, whether she was inside the house or at work, according to an article in the newspaper "Politis".

Initially, the causes of her death were attributed by "medical examiner Eleni Antoniou" to "inhalation of smoke due to fire that broke out in the bed from a lit cigarette", but Christina's parents started a fight and at some point managed to exhume the body. She is being re-examined by a Greek medical examiner and the conclusion that emerges is that Christina's death was due to strangulation.

It had already been 2 years until the completion of these procedures, during which the perpetrator not only circulated freely, but also had children under his care. The new findings eventually lead to his arrest and subsequent conviction (in November 2014) to 20 years in prison for the crime of murder, while at some point he is transferred to Greek prisons. In February 2016, he was found dead in his cell and the Greek authorities attributed his death to suicide, according to "P".

For five years, the trial of the lawsuit filed by Christina's parents in the state has not yet begun. Specifically, according to "P", they filed a lawsuit against the state since December 2014, which was set for planning and not for trial 3 years later and specifically in October 2017. The now elderly father returns to Cyprus thinking that it was the trial, but he picks them up again and leaves after a new session was set for the day before yesterday, Thursday. As a result, he had returned to Cyprus to appear in court (Larnaca district), but this time the case is set for December 2019!
