The Municipality of Deryneia completed the creation of the Municipal Library and Hall of Study and Culture "Adam Adamanos".
The project concerns the renovation of an old former building of the Cooperative Bank, located in the traditional core of the Municipality of Deryneia, transforming it into a modern multi-purpose space for study and cultural events.
The modern building will provide an impetus to the area for development and the creation of attractive living conditions, since it has all the necessary supplies for research, intellectual cultivation, upgrading the quality of life in an area that is developing in conditions that are not at all favorable, due to unresponsiveness and semi-occupation.
The Municipality of Deryneia, with the creation of this innovative and unique library, aims to provide services to people of all ages and to the entire population of Famagusta District in general.
The project has been co-financed by the European Union (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014-2020) and by the Republic of Cyprus, through the Local Development Strategy of the Fishing Areas of the Development Company of Larnaca and Famagusta, Priority 4 "Increasing employment and territorial cohesion ».
The total cost amounts to €553.448,55 including VAT.
