Deryneia Roadblock: Challenges of the Turkish side a few hours before the opening (VIDEO)

There are two days left from the opening of the roadblock of Deryneia, scheduled for the day after tomorrow, as it was announced after the dinner on April 16.

Nevertheless, a further extension seems to be inevitable, as the Turkish Cypriot side is constantly trying to gain time by invoking various pretexts, without even failing to place responsibilities on the Greek Cypriot side.

Yesterday's statements by Erhiurman about the connection between the issue of fuel control and the opening of the Deryneia roadblock add fuel to the already existing concerns expressed by the businessmen of free Famagusta about losses in tourism.

The so-called "prime minister" himself in his statements on Thursday after a meeting with the occupation leader Mustafa Akinci, expressed the readiness of the pseudo-state to open the roadblock if the Greek Cypriot side is ready.

Nevertheless, Sigma's camera recorded the current image that prevails at the Deryneia roadblock.

The infrastructure on the Republic side has been completed, with the installation of signs, as well as a closed monitoring circuit.

On the other hand, the Turkish Cypriot side is unprepared as only last week the so-called "Ministry of Transport and Public Works" of the occupiers announced offers for the projects in the services of the so-called "Police" and "Customs".

Added to this is the refusal to move the old outpost of the occupying army, as had already been agreed.

However, a reliable source from the Presidency told Sigma that the opening of the Deryneia roadblock is expected to take place the day after tomorrow, Sunday, while in case of delay, the responsibility will fall exclusively on the Turkish Cypriot side.
