The rescue operation of two people who were on a boat in the sea area of Famagusta was carried out by the KSED.
Specifically, according to an announcement, "on August 29, 2020 at 06:48 am, the Larnaca KSED received information that a small boat with 2 people was in danger in the sea area of Famagusta, 3 NM northeast of Cape Greco.
The KSED immediately activated the National Special Search and Rescue Plan "NEARCHOS", sending to the area the speedboat "APOSTOLOS ANDREAS" of the Port and Maritime Police which towed the endangered boat to the fishing boat.
The 2 rescued, of Syrian origin, were received by an ambulance of the Ministry of Health for a preventive check, observing all the necessary measures for the spread of the coronary artery. The incident was also reported to all the competent Services of the Republic for the further management of the rescued and the actions of their competence ".
