Linos Papagiannis submitted his candidacy for the position of Mayor of Famagusta.
As his statement:
The elections, which will have a double format, will define a new era as far as the municipal authorities are concerned and, in combination with the European elections, will be an important stage for the next day. As far as the Municipality of Famagusta is concerned, this is the second time I am running for the mayorship of our occupied City. There are clear ideological goals that I have decided to proceed with this candidacy, whatever the result we have as a primary goal to send some messages. I am ready to defend the rights of the people of Famagusta but also of the entire Refugee community. I hope that we will follow a completely different line from what we see happening from 1974 until today
