Residents of Liopetri held a protest yesterday afternoon regarding the intention to build a sewage pumping station in the area.
According to the residents, this is a residential area, near the center of Liopetri, on the road to Avgorou and a possible construction of a sewage pumping station will contribute to the degradation of the entire area.

It is pointed out that after the signing of the relevant agreement, the construction of the Achna Wastewater Treatment Plant is expected to begin, which will serve the Municipalities of Deryneia and Sotira, the communities of Agios Georgios Acheritou, Avgorou, Achna, Liopetri, Frenaros, the Commune of Aham. Xylofagou, Xylotympos and Ormidia, of the Larnaca District, while for the channeling of the sewage in Achna from the Sewerage Complex of Kokkinochorion, it was deemed necessary to build the pumping station in the area, for which the residents react.
