Paralimni is changing its appearance with new plans implemented by the Municipality

New plans will be implemented in the center of Paralimni, which are expected to change the look of the Municipality.

According to the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis, projects related to the central core of the city are currently underway, which aim at the sustainable development of the area, the economic and social prosperity of the inhabitants, improving accessibility and encouraging entrepreneurship.

As Mr. Pyrillis stated in KYPE, today the traffic study will be presented to the traffic studies body. Once the planning permit is issued, the construction plans will proceed.

The plan includes the area of ​​the central square, the square of the churches, that is, the entire avenue of Archbishop Makarios III, the so-called Nota up to Agia Marina, areas which will be completely pedestrianized.

"The purpose, said the Mayor, is for both locals and tourists to enjoy the center smoothly and safely."

The authorities' plans include the creation of green spaces, playgrounds and the provision of various facilities in the wider area, improving accessibility and encouraging entrepreneurship.

In addition, as Mr. Pyrillis said, new monuments will be created while a study is being carried out to relocate the existing monuments that are scattered throughout the city. Also, he continued, the Municipality has proceeded with the expropriation of a house next to the old stadium of the Paralimni Youth Union. There will be a space where they will have the opportunity to place monuments, small groups of people or organizations that wish to honor heroes or people of Paralimni.

By the end of this month, there will be a public consultation with the Citizens of Paralimni, in which there will be an exchange of views and ideas about the new projects.
The construction plans are estimated to be ready within the next 9 months.

"The projects that have been proposed aim to make Paralimni a friendly and attractive city for social, environmental and business activities", said Mr. Pyrillis.

The project, as mentioned by the Mayor, will help in the development of the commercial axis and the core of the Municipality, thus upgrading the quality of life of the residents and visitors of the area.

The schedule for the execution of the works is set at about two years. This urban project is expected to cost 19 million euros.
